Preferred Reporting Items for study
The Preferred Reporting Items for study Designs in Endodontology (PRIDE) website has been created by project leaders Paul Dummer and Venkateshbabu N after they identified the need to guide authors on how to improve their manuscripts prior to submission to a journal and before they were subjected to peer-review. Several reporting guidelines have been developed in the field of Endodontology for various categories of manuscripts, including: case reports, randomized clinical trials, animal studies and laboratory-based studies. For each category, a steering committee made up of experts was created to guide the development of the reporting guidelines.
Need for PRIDE
PRIDE is a new online web-based resource that has been developed to increase awareness of the importance of high standards when writing research and clinical reports in Endodontology. The PRIDE team will develop and maintain an extensive collection of reporting guidelines in the field of Endodontology. The guidelines will help authors improve the quality, completeness, accuracy and transparency of manuscripts and provide a blueprint for how best to plan, design and implement research and clinical studies more effectively.
